- Chicken - 1 kg
- Onions - 2 large (Thinly Sliced)
- Tomatoes - 3 (Medium) Sliced
- Cinnamon Stick - 1 inch
- Green Cardamon - 2
- Peppercorns - 4
- Onion-Seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Red Chilli Poweder - 1 tsp
- Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
- Ginger Paste 1.1/2 tsp
- Garlic Paste 1.1/2 tsp
- Curd (Beaten) - 3-4 tbsp
- Green Chillies - 2 Chopped (Optional)
- Coriander Leaves (Finely Chopped) - 2-3 tbsp
- Lemon Juice - 2 tbsp
- Ghee/Oil - 2-3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Method :-
- In a large pan heat oil/ghee and fry cinnamon stick,green cardamon,peppercorns fry for 2 mins.Then add the onions on medium flame till it turns slightly golden and soft.This process will take about 10 mins.
- Now add the tomatoes,onion-seeds,ginger-garlic paste,red chilli powder,garam masala powder and salt.Saute very nicely till oil leaves sides.This process will take 5-6 mins.
- Add the chicken pieces and mix nicely so that all the pieces are coated well with the masala.Fry for 3-4 mins.
- Add beaten curd,cover the pan and allow to cook on medium flame.
- The curry will be semi-thick gravy.If you need extra gravy just add 1/4 cup of water at this stage.Cook till chicken is tender.
- When the chicken is cooked add chopped coriander leaves,chopped green chillies and lemon juice.Stir and turn off the flame.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and lemon wedges.
- Serve hot with Roti/Naan.
